 Pediatric Critical Care

The critical care service at the Goryeb Children’s Hospital provides comprehensive care to pediatric patients from infants to young adults with acute, life-threatening illness and injury.

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is an eight-bed unit where children stay for post-operative management after major pediatric surgical procedures including neurosurgical, trauma, and orthopedic procedures. All pediatric medical and surgical specialties are available for consultation in the PICU.

The staff of the PICU is made up of a team of caregivers from various specialties to provide your child with the best possible care. Our physicians are board-certified in pediatric critical care and provide 24-hour coverage. They have advanced training and extensive experience, which allows them to administer the unique medical care that children in a PICU require.
